Reels are Blazing Sportfishing

I have a passion for this sport, and have always dreamed of someday to enter the fishing industry as a professional. In 2019, this dream came alive as I was involved in many professional tournaments, launched my charter business, Reels Are Blazing Sportfishing, and succeeded in the Great Ontario Salmon Derby. Let’s rewind a few years to when I first started to fish. I started fishing with my Grandpa in Thornbury when I was only a few years old and became addicted to the sport. As I grew up, I enjoyed float fishing, ice fishing and trolling in Georgian Bay. Fast forward to mid-2010s, where I purchased by my first boat for trolling the Great Lakes. My week nights and weekends quickly filled up with me traveling to Lake Ontario from May – September looking for that 30+ pound Chinook! In the cooler months, I have the flexibility with my 1975 Lund Tyee to travel to Lake Erie, Lake Simcoe and Bay of Quinte. As the years went by I wanted to use my skills and passion to compete to come 1st place in a tournament and share my passion with others. Fishing has always been my greatest hobby and was how I was raised, like my Grandpa always told me “there is no drug like the tug”.
